Uxmal Round Plateau

With a diameter of 30 cm, this round plateau is the perfect size as a centerpiece on the dining table, kitchen island, or a console. It offers space for vases, candles, or personal objects. The travertine is deliberately kept natural and open-pored, which gives the heavy stone a very raw, sculptural look.

The object is named after Uxmal, one of the most magnificent ancient Mayan cities on the Yucatán Peninsula. The temples and palaces there are world-famous for their "Puuc architecture" – monumental structures made of warm, sand-colored limestone, which fit together so precisely without mortar that they have lasted for centuries.

When you run your hand over the matte, textured surface of this plateau, you feel the exact same material and the same sun-warmed aesthetic from which the Mayans built their sacred sites.
