Cobá Coaster Ensemble

The set consists of six round coasters and a matching box in which they are neatly stacked. Since heavy natural stone could leave scratches on delicate wooden or glass tables, the underside of each piece is completely covered with felt. This is not visible from above, but reliably protects your furniture from rings and stains.

The name takes us to Cobá, a large ancient Mayan metropolis on the Yucatán Peninsula. What is special about this city is its location: unlike most other ruined sites, Cobá was built directly between two large, natural freshwater lakes. Translated, the name means something like "Water moved by the wind".

Since coasters essentially have one task – namely to catch condensation from cold drinks or wine bottles – this set is a direct functional tribute to the city of lakes. A simple, honest design object from Marmonix for your bar.
